A. Certification provides employers a baseline to judge your skills. Experience is important, but it's not always a reliable measure of expertise. Although certification isn't a foolproof benchmark either, it assures an employer that you have at least met a standard and have proved your knowledge via a written test. Certification can help set you apart from other candidates with the same level of experience, it can open doors for you if you don't have the experience, and it can help you negotiate a higher salary.
A. Yes, the qualitifications / certifications are valid throughout the world and carry the same recognition status as a Boot Camp in Europe / USA.
A. All trainers at Koenig speak very good English. 90% of our customers are from outside India. Excellent communication skills in English are a pre-requisite for working at Koenig.
A. Mentoring, by definition, is support and guidance provided for self-learning. 1-on-1™ training is actually instructor-led training where the instructor is present all the time (unlike mentoring) and it is classroom training (and not self learning). Koenig is the pioneer in 1-on-1™ training and "1-on-1" training is a Koenig Trade Mark.
A. You can opt for 1-on-1 training in Regular Track and Fast Track as well (at an addtional cost). 1-on-1™
A. In 1-on-1 training, you have the flexibility to spend more time on topics where you need more time and can skip topics which you are already conversant with. Thus effectively, you learn more in the same time as compared to group training.
A. Yes, this is possible. You can choose to attend parts of the Boot Camp in all 4 locations. This will be offered with 1-on-1™ training. Write to us for costs.

A. Foreigners can take exams in India.
Here is the clarification :
- Bonafide foreign students can continue to take Microsoft exams in India.
- Before a foreign candidate takes the first exam the testing center has to take approval by sending an email to mlsecure@microsoft.com alongwith a copy of the passport.
Our Testing Center Administrators at all locations are following this process for our foreign students and they continue to take exams without any problem.
In effect, foreign nationals can continue to take exams in India. The only change is that they have to send certain details to Microsoft.
A. You can retake the exam by paying the cost of the exam. Presently the 2nd attempt is free for Cisco (upto 15th, Oct. 2008) and Microsoft (upto 30th June, 2009).
A. Microsoft : US$ 50 ($40 for Microsoft Office Specialist exams).
Cisco : US$ 150.
Red Hat : US$ 300.
CompTIA A+ : US$ 163
CompTIA Network+ : US$ 232

Sun Java : US$ 150.
Oracle : IZO 007 for $ 95, others for $ 125 each.

Please note that when you arrange your own Hotel you have to arrange for your transport to and from the training centre and pickup & drop from the airport. The rebate is $26 per day for all other locations.
A.An Apartment is an abridged version of a Budget Hotel. An Apartment is usually 3 rooms, Budget Hotel is usually more than 10. Room service is not as elaborate in an Apartment. However, an open kitchen is available in an Apartment which is not available in a Budget Hotel. Some other amenities such as washing machine, living room are available in an apartment which are not available in a Budget Hotel.
A. Dehradun and Goa have a gym within the training facilities. There are good gyms near the Hotels and training centre in Delhi and Shimla. Cost of joining a gym is around US $ 30 for a month. If you opt for 5-star accommodation, you get access to their health club free-of-cost.
A. You are most welcome to attend. We suggest that you opt for 1-on-1 training and inform us in case any special audio equipment is required in the class.
A. India is a relatively inexpensive place for living. Here are some typical costs:
Can of Coke : $ 0.45
Can of Beer : $ 0.65
Cab for a day (8 hours) : $ 20
Dinner at a specialty restaurant : $ 25
Hair-cut : $ 3.00
Laundry (Budget- Hotel) : $ 0.60 for a shirt/trouser
Pack of 10 cigarettes : $ 0.80
A. The short answer to this is 10g.
Oracle 10g has been around for a few years but even today, the number of installations of Oracle 9i are more than for Oracle 10g. This will not change anytime soon. There are and will remain more jobs for Oracle 9i than for 10g but trained people on the latter are also fewer.
The best option is to do OCP in Oracle 9i and take the upgrade to 10g. If this does not suit you, we suggest that you take Oracle 10g because it is more likely you get you a job (because of the demand supply gap in the skills market).
A. A Project Management certification by itself will not help your career. However, a Project Management certification complementing experience / certification in a role which requires Project management will certainly be a good idea.
Doing SAP and then a project management certification can be a good idea. However, we currently do not offer SAP. We are planning to offer Oracle Applications late 2008 or early 2009 and that could be a good area to develop skills on.
A. A+ (or any other certification) does not guarantee a job. However, there are chances of getting entry level hardware maintenance jobs after doing A+. If you have time we suggest that you take A+, Network+ and MCSE which will enable you to obtain a higher level job.
