SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT KOENIG SOLUTIONS |

Koenig is a socially responsible organization.
India is a developing country and even today a vast majority of the population lives in conditions of abject poverty. Koenig wants to play a role to change this.
After a lot of thought and discussion, we have identified education as our vehicle for social change. We think that if we offer food to an impoverished man, it will only help him for that day. But if we provide him education he can stand on his own feet and will not need further support.
It is our belief that the most effective way to remove poverty from the society is by raising the literacy level.
With this objective, in April 2007 Koenig Solutions started a Social Responsibility Domain with the purpose of serving the underprivileged members of our society. |

Working Model of Koenig Social Responsibility
In this Domain, we currently focus on following Programs:-
(1) School Education, (2) Vocational Education (3) Environmental Protection
School Education Program. After meeting educationists and social activists we realized that the reason why majority of students drop out of schools is not the inability to pay the school fees (which is very nominal in government supported schools) but their inability to cope up the classroom studies. It was suggested that if Koenig can provide extra coaching beyond school timings, the drop out rate can be dramatically reduced. Accordingly, we are providing additional Study Classes after school hours in subjects such as English/Math/Science to impoverished, hardworking school students. We also provide study books to students who can not afford to buy books. The results for the first year have shown a dramatic increase in test scores, 100% pass and a corresponding lowering of drop out rate.
Vocational Education Program. Unemployment rate is high in India for youths who not possess a specialized skill. Koenig has taken upon itself to provide specialized training to such unemployed youths to enable them to get a meaningful job. Once the first job has been secured, the youths progress on the strength of the hard work.
Environmental Protection Program. Global warming is now upon us and it is duty of every human being to protect the environment to the extent possible. We expect everyone working at Koenig to take care of the environment around by planting trees, avoiding use of plastics, conserving water and energy.
Our efforts so far:
2007
- Provided School Books to 51 poor but hardworking students of Class IX and X from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Shalimar Village, New Delhi.
- Imparted school education to more than 80 students of Class IX and Class X throughout the Academic Year. The result for these students is overwhelming.
- Sponsored 2 youths for a course on car driving for one month. One youth has secured a job.
- Technical Training (A+, Networking+ and MCSE) to 16 youths out of which 7 are working as Network Support Engineers in various organizations.

2008
- Provided School Syllabus Books to 80 poor but hardworking students of Class IX and X from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Shalimar Village, New Delhi.
- Imparting Extra Tuition Classes in English/Science/Math to more than 80 students of Class IX and X.
- Technical Training in Desk Top Publishing (DTP) is currently going on for 10 Youths.
Through these and other measures, Koenig is making a difference to the society and environment. We also want other enterprises to imbibe our approach and help us make this a nation-wide corporate movement.
All Social Responsibility activities are monitored closely by a designated Koenig manager to ensure their effectiveness. Students are welcome to see our Social Responsibility efforts in action. You have to contact the Centre Manager in Delhi for this.
